Anybody ever done it? Looking at the pictures in my FSM, it would appear as though I need either a different tensioner or/and a different tensioner pulley (one with grooves in it as opposed to smooth, becuase the "front" of the serpentine belt will be riding on the idler pulley as opposed to the "back").

BTW, this is a '93 6BT that I'm working with. I'm eliminating the AC becuase the coach I'm putting this engine in has a helluva good 15,000 BTU Carrier and a Kohler Generator to run it.

Any of you 1st gen guys have (or know where I can get) the non-ac tensioner?

Thanks!

Don

Don, if the 93 is the same as my 89, you will only need a different belt. When I bought my truck, I got a new AC compressor with it along with other new parts. The non-AC belt was routed different than AC. Belt routing diagram was under my hood. Your factory manual should tell you how to route it. When I installed the AC comp, I had to buy a new belt, the belt I had was for non-ac and wasnt driving the junk ac comp. Cummins said they didnt have nothing to do with the belt, bought it from napa.
