I have a 98 24V Automatic and Edge Comp. Just purchased a 5th wheel weighing about 10,000. Question: when accelerating from stop in no particular hurry, am I better off accelerating at 2,000 RPM's or at higher RPM to reach cruise speed sooner. Or should I use boost pressure as the guage? If so, what boost pressure should I use? I want to be as easy on the transmission as possible.

Alvin,

I too, have a 98 24v, and a fueling box. All I can tell you, is I try not to overboost/overfuel while towing. That much weight, even at l-up, will eventually toast your stock transmission. If you leave the box on, you must keep your foot out of it. The t/c will heat up the transmission fluid so fast while not in l-up under hard accelleration.

I like the box for cruising around 75 mph with the towing weight, and not slowing down on hills. Once the transmission t/c unlocks on a hill, your temp will sky-rocket. Keep your foot out of it while going into o/d l-up too.
