2003 RAM 2500 SLT 4X4 Accelerator fails to work. This accelerator is not a direct hookup to the fuel delivery system. It is electronic. When it malfunctions there is absolutely no engine response to pressing the accelerator pedal. Sometimes turning the ignition off and back on fixes it immediately, other times it does not. The malfunction continues for a few minutes. I made repeated complaints to the dealer. I had to have a lawyer contact my local dealer before I got any response to my complaint. It has now been back to dealer many times. Dealer can’t find anything wrong. Factory representative checked truck out and said it was okay. The factory representative said he did not do anything but the truck’s accelerator seems to malfunction less often since he looked at the truck. Factory representative said not to touch floorboard prior to starting the truck. District manager has instructed me to take it to another dealer.

are you?? you should NEVER touch the throttle before starting the truck, if your key is in the "on" position and you touch pedal it recalibrates the T. P. S.

there is NO need to give it throttle. maybe a kwick recalibrate will fix it?
