Did this just start and you've had the truck since 2013 or did you just purchase the truck and discovered this?
1. Check grounds would be my first advice...AM is most susceptible to noise. Remove, clean, and dielectric grease on them. If still there
2. I would try to determine if static is generated internally through the power (dirty 12vdc) or if it over the air. Easy way to do this is bring an am radio, like clock radio inside the truck, turn it on, turn on the truck to see if you can duplicate it. If you get static on the clock radio, then truck is broadcasting noise. There are noise filters that are plug and play into the radio antenna and radio.
3. So if no static on clock radio on test above, then problem is likely dirty 12VDC. There are RF filters for power, but is harder fix. There are two 12vdc sources to your truck radio... constant to keep time and accy when you actually turn truck radio on. You would cut accy wire on the radio side of the radio plug and wire filter in. There are three leads power in, power out, and ground. You can find these on Amazon and at truck stops.
Hope this helps. Cheers, Ron
