How Do You Move Snow? ?

Well just wanted to post about the truck. Last month 12/22/04 was on my way to work. It was snowing and a little icy. Was trucking along and out of no where I got hit, almost head on.

And 03 chevy Z71 lost control and slammed into the left hand front of my truck. Yes, I was injured. But No where near I could've been. Alot of people has told me by the way the truck looks I was very Lucky.

I was in the process of getting pics on the reader's rigs of the truck. My Dad and I just got through painting it and making it look brand new again bout 2 1/2 months ago. :{

Well the 1st gen is totalled. So I'm gonna get me another.

Thought would let you guys and gals see. .

Amy

That was a hard hit, another piece of Diesel history, is history!!

Say, why don't you get a second Gen, cause I have been working on a 92 and could use some rust free parts.

I know, I know, vulture!

Thank God you're OK. That was some hit!!!!!! You can always get another truck. You can't be replaced!!!!

Another excellent reason to drive a larger vehicle than those small roller skates they call economy cars!

I was down around Victoria, TX when they were getting all that snow on the 24th. I tell you those people have no idea how to drive on slick roads, it was pretty scary. I was catching a chevy and was about ready to pass (roads mostly clear by now) but i saw that we were coming up on a bridge so I backed of to give them room. Well, we hit the bridge and there is still snow and ice all over the sides. So what do these people proceed to do, STOMP on the BRAKES! :--) I was praying they would keep it straight, cause if we hit ice i wouldn't have been able to do anything. Luckily the lane wasn't iced over and they continued on without a problem, probably not even knowing how close they had come to causing a pile up  .

Drivers that dont know winter driving can sure be scary!

Its good to here know one was seriosly injured . That was a nice looking rig but you can always replace a truck but a life. Hang in there and Good luck on your next rig :)

First of all, glad to hear you are OK!

For as bad as your truck looks, its too bad you didn't have a pic of the car. How bad was it? Driver hurt bad?

Hope your injuries are minor.

Take care

wreck carnage

The other truck was a 03 Z71 chuby. Trust me, as bad as the dodge looks the chevy is worse. Pretty much took his whole front end apart and shoved the motor up into the cab from what I could tell. The driver of the chubby wasn't hurt, well not before I beat the crap out of him ;)

Ok, maybe I didn't do that hehe. Just to give you an idea of carnage detail, it broke the leaf springs on the dodge apart on both sides of that front axle. It sheared the splined shaft out of the gear box and shattered the yoke on the front pumpkin. It popped the vents out of the dash, even on the right side. It worked in Amy's favor that it was a four wheel drive as the front axle took the brunt of the hit and it had to break loose both the drivers side and passenger side since it's all tied together (gotta love the good ol' solid axle four by fours) where as a 2wd I fear it would have sheared off the A arm on the right side and just kept coming in the cab.

Glad to hear you are ok. Good luck finding another truck, they are out there.

P. S. Make sure if you sell Sleddy any parts for his truck, you get your $$ worth. :-laf

Glad to hear nobody got seriously hurt. That's the best thing about driving a land yacht, better chance of surviving such an accident.
