As most of us are aware of the dangers of low tire pressures,
and particularly with trailer tires. Do you know what ST stands for? No ... not "special trailer" it stands for "separated tread".
Out of respect for this, I had purchased two sets of 50 psi Accu-pressure safety caps. (from Genos's I believe) One for myself
and one for my brother in-law. We both have dual axle trailer
tires and we tow in Arizona during the summer. You know the rest.
I installed these caps 4-6 weeks ago and monitored them daily
as the boat is stored in my garage workshop. I came home from work today to find the left front tire flat. It had been "in the green" yesterday evening when I shut the garage down for the
evening. Investigation revealed that the pin hole in the middle
of the cap (visible between the 5 and the 0 on every cap)
was leaking a jet stream of air. I have now removed these devices from my trailer as I do not trust them.
I have also notified Genos garage.
