When it happened to me the bellcrank on the active air door linkage had come unhooked for some unknown reason. Possible some debris jammed it. I snapped the ball back into the socket and nothing sence. That was 50,000 miles ago.

Google "Active Airbox Service Required" and on YouTube the Motorcity Mechanic has a good vidio on this.
From what I've read and watch (Youtube), this message is mostly caused by the flex tube (looks like a dryer vent hose) the runs from the intake box out to the fenderwell. The message starts showing up when the tube sucks shut.
The video will show you how to get to it and how much to cut off.

Start around the 4:30 mark for the tube issue.

Nice video. He said there was collision work, betcha that’s where things went bad.
From what I've read, this seems to be a common issue with the hose either getting clogged or sucked shut.
The collision part is just a comment on this particular truck.

I talked to a RAM mechanic about this tube during my last recall visit. He showed me how to check for this tube. There is a little flap door behind the passengers headlight in the wheel well. You can open this and reach up and feel the air intake tube heading back over the top of the wheel well. NO Popeye forearms allowed. If you feel the soft paper/fabric flex tube attached to the plastic tube you could have this issue. Mine was all plastic tube. Truck(2015) was built in Dec 2014.

So mine being built 2-15 "should" be fine?

OK what do my pics show" Potential issue?

First pic looking thru door, second looking up and third looking back.

Thanks for confirming that info.

Going to check mine as soon as the weather clears up..
He didn't happen to mention if there is any way to cut the flex tube without taking everything apart did he?
:)

I will go take pictures of mine. So here is the what I think we have. It as a flexable semi rigid PLASTIC hose, NOT the paper/fabric type hose that get sucked flat. SnoKing

I'm not Intake/Box friendly , I also don't support Air box changes to support Factory Power levels or Fuel gains That being said:

My Bank intake has provided info I could not know without the change

1 The factory Intake disguises the Turbo operations ,example when you start the truck after some time the OEM system will engage the turbo brake until 160* coolant temp after that it will dis-engage, But under certain conditions the system engages the VGT to cycle you can here this with rider door/hood open , Now you know your actuator is functioning properly. This noise was absorb in the OEM intake.

And now its much easier to change the oil filter W/O that HUGE silencer can in the way.

The whole OEM intake is for sound deadening at the cost of operations for the weekend Rambo complainers on sound.

Amazing picture. Thanks.
How did you get such a great picture?
Is that from the trap door or with the liner removed?
I'm 99% sure that my `14 has the "dryer vent" paper/ fabric extension hose.
If I can cut the extension crap from the trap door, well I'll get the granddaughter to do it, THAT is getting done ASAP..

Thanks again SnoKing!
Much appreciated.
