If you have been following my progress testing the actron CP 9035. .

Well NOW I'M IN TROUBLE!!

I pulled the MAP sensor connector to SIMULATE a problem and kick out a check engine light.

I then put the scanner on to the truck and tried to find the problem...

It came back with NO PROBLEMS FOUND. . !!!

And this all the while the check engine light is GLARING ME IN THE FACE!!!

I had to do the 10 restarts just to get the light to go out..... but now I've got a code in Long term memory that I can't read or clear!!!!!

The reader is going back TOMORROW..... IT HAS NO USE FOR ME AT ALL!!!

Next question is ...

How do I CLEAR the code that I set on purpose???

AND which tool (under $300. 00) can read and correct Cummins ECM Codes?????

Let me know ASAP PLEASE!!!!!

THIS SUCKS!!!!!!

LOL... . Larry #ad

I`m not trying to be sarcastic, Just got a kick out of "glaring me in the face" "useless".

Most of my projects have problems too. You are not alone. It should be a simple problem to fix. Nothing compared to the Jardine mess. #ad

The Auto X-Ray scanner will read and reset DTC's, at least on my 96. I received an email today from Auto X-ray in response to my question asking if they are going to produce an upgrade that will allow the scanner to read real-time sensor info. The Technical Services Manager said the programmers are working on it now and were close to completion but could not give a specific date for release. He said it could be out in their next software release, whenever that is.

I paid 350. 00 for my unit, which included software and cables for domestic OBD-I vehicles. The OBD-II-only units are less.

Man, talk about a day late and a dollar short! I just bought one last night when I managed to trip my Check Engine light as well. I hadn't even opened the box yet, don't reckon I will now. Sorry to hear of your frustration Larry, but thanks for posting this and preventing the same for the rest of us!
