Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) actual mileage???

i was wondering to check the actual mileage on my brother's 97 cummins 5 speed in case the odometer has been... . tampered with. thanx for the help

The PCM should tell you, if it is setup to do that.

Is the small piece of glass/plastic still over the odometer (it is just the size of the rectangle of the six odometer digits), if it wasn't perhaps someone could have "rolled" it.



The dealer can run a report of any warranty or dealership history, compare mileages for dates of certain repairs.



Did the prev. owner take it to an oil change place (the same one).



Also your insurance agent might be able to run a clue report to check for any accident (insurance claim history) and mileages for such.



There are other things to ck. , but this should give you some ideas for obvious 2+2= 3
