Anyone use or look at the Acu Temp Trans temp sender mount from Geno's? It like 33buck and say it take 5 minutes to mount a 1/8 sendor and u dont have to open the line. Just wondering if anyone has used one or has any idea how it works. I'm guessing it just clamps the sender on the outside of the line and reads the temp through heat transfer throught the line. Would this be accurate? I'm thinking not as accurate as being in the fluid stream but would it be accurate enough for a slightly bombed truck that really doesnt get hotrodded and rarely tows?

Let me know if anyone has any experiences with this item.

Thanks in advance,

J-

Before Geno's began carrying this sender mount, I fabricated one from a brass tee and clamped it to the transmission line with hose clamps. It has performed exceptionally well with fast response, and according to readings taken with my infrared thermometer, quite accurate.

If it had been available then, I would have bought it instead of spending several hours making one up.

Go for it.

ps. I applied "heat sink grease" from Radio Shack to enhance temp transfer to the sendng unit. Probably not required.

Exceedingly simple. Bear in mind I was designing mine as I went and I spent a lot of time making it a close fit to the line and figuring out the clamping technique. Making it from brass (or aluminum) assured rapid heat transfer. Send me an e-mail at -- email address removed -- and I'll fwd. a summary of my installation to you.
