:) :) having a small problem installing gauges. using a product from little fuse called mini add circuit. removed # 5 fuse tried to plug in add circuit does not fit in fuse panel . it is for a mini fuse as there are 4 mini fuses supplied in the kit. anyone had this problem ? this is the last item in hooking up my westech gauges . thanks for any help. :) :)

I have them.......

And they do work well. Have to push pretty hard to get em in but that ensures they'll stay put. The fuses out the side like that ride right over the other ones so there shouldn't be a clearance problem either.

i made my own add-a-fuse thing for my tahoe when i did gauges. will snap a pic this afternoon and post it. made from 2 spade connectors, one fuse holder and some wire.

I also had a problem with the "add-a circuit" product when I installed my guages. I ended up modifying the body of the adaptor that pushes into my fuse panel.

Later I purchased another one and was amazed at how well it worked. Great product... if you get one that came from the right mold.

Check the sides of it, it should be molded just like the fuses are. If not take it back and exchange it for one that is.

And yes they do require quite a push to insert, but simply will NOT go in if built wrong.

add a circuits

I used these for my gauge install. I bought 2 of them and the first one went in great and the second wouldnt fit. They looked exactly the same at first glance, but after closer inspection, the one that fit had slots cut into the adaptor. So after a quick trip back to autozone for an exchange all was well. Make sure you have the one with the slots.

if you look behind your ashtray, you'll see a white knub comming through from behind the dash. Thats a holder for a connector for the ashtray light bulb... which runs off of fuse 5. There's a ground and +(dimmed) there. You can tap off of that if you dont want to fuss with the fuse panel.

Dont use the ground off of that connector. . run a ground to the metal frame of the dashboard. But the + that feeds the ashtray light works great for the gauge lights.
