Ted Nugent ....BAD AMERICAN

Did anyone watch "Inside Drag Racing" last nite??

Thought maybe every one could share some cheap tech tips. If ya have one or many of them. But it would be best if related to our intersts.

Here is one of my iddy biddy ones.

Its the season for spring cleaning. That means my truck anyway.

For cleaning chrome or polished stainless steal. Try window cleaner.

#1. Spray the glass cleaner on the shiny object.

#2. Use a rag to wipe the shiny object. (keep wiping till you hear that eek eek soud)

#3. Grab a dry rag to buff out any streaks.

You swear looking at your chrome is like looking in a mirror. Also another benefit is no abrasiveness.

If your peace is showing heavy oxidation or some rust. Glass cleaner more than likely will not work. ;)

Not Cheap, Just Thriffty

When I clean my truck I go all out, and this includes cleaning the tires. I have used bleach white in the past but with my new Weld rims this is a big no,no. What I have found that works even better is Dow Scrubben Bubbles in the spray bottle. You can buy it a SAM's Club for dirt cheap for 3 cans. It really cleans the road grime right off the tires, and even makes the white letters shine like new. Put a little protectent back on the tires and you have some sharp looking tires.

Got a one more:

Around here the road department likes to use what they call cold patch on the pot holes and other bad spots in the raod. With 33x12. 50's on my truck when they patch the raod it throws all the black tar on the side of the truck. :{ To clean of that tar and the bugs try WD-40. Just spray it right on the spot to be cleaned and start scrubin. Works better than anything I've ever used. :p

Happy Spring Cleaning

To keep your grease gun from becoming a dripping mess put a plastic bag over the barrel then cover it with an old sock, thicker the better, held in place with a rubber band. Handy place to wipe your hands also.

If using tools near anything electrical, put heat shrink over the exposed metal on the tool to avoid a shock or shorting something out.

How about those who run into the dreaded springtime highway line painting and end up with it where you do not want it,all over your truck,,Use the highest percentage rubbing alcohol mix you can find(round here its 90%) and cotton balls,,Wet the cotton with the alcohol and hold it on the line paint till it softens and away it goes,,Apply your favotite top coat for shine and off to the show ya go... ... .

Get yourself some nitrile rubber gloves and use when doing your next oil change. Keeps the grime off your hands plus gives you a little more traction to tighten the oil filter.

If you find yourself in need of a funnel, roll up a sheet of paper. Will even work long enough to empty a 5 gallon gas jug, if it doesnt happen to have a spout:rolleyes:

Tires

For tires, I like SOS pads. It leaves them looking black(not shiney) just like a new tire. Only setback is scrubbing and when the wife finds her SOS pads missing... ... ... ... ...

After washing your wheel wells out, spray them with foaming tire cleaner - the wheel wells will look like new and new dirt won't stick to them as much.

Spray bake clean on a rag and wipe sticky stuff from your carpet. If you get undercoating on your carpet, spray brake clean on the mess and blot with a rag.

After your back goes out, and you happen to get a flat, show your wife that you can still do the job of lifting the tire on to the spindle by rolling the tire onto a long screwdriver and levering it. All the while, she will yell at you not to do that, since you aren't supposed to lift. Then have her do it and see how easy it was.

When your wipers start streaking, wipe them with an alcohol pad. The pad will turn black and the wipers will stop streaking.

When your printer stops picking up the paper, look at the carriage roller and you will notice that the roller is coated with paper lint. Remove the paper lint by rubbing a pink eraser over it, while rolling the roller around. It will pick up paper like it is new afterwards.

If your HP printer quits printing nice letters and you've tried the cleaning option without success, remove the ink cartridge and rub the print head area with a handy wipe.
