I installed the B&W turnoverball system to my 03 2500 short box. Having never done a hitch like this I was very surprised with the simplicity of the install. The directions provided where excellent.
Because of the no-drill system, the hitch uses a pair of u-bolts on each side of the frame to draw the side panels tight against the frame. The front u-bolt on the driver side was a bugger to align because of an existing brake line.
The only 2 items of concern was the paint and release bar. The paint doesn't appear that it will stand up over the long haul. With the rear inner liners installed (optional part on the 03) the release rod is not long enough to protrude through the fender liner. I was able to fabricate a new rod but you would think that this would have been addressed.
Can't wait to try the goose neck trailer pulling a 12K gooser. I doubt the HO 6-speed will even know it is back there!!
BTW, I purchased the hitch off of ebay from a dealer in North Carolina. Nice folks. . brand new in the box hitch. $245 w/ $40 shipping. To buy direct from B&W was $369. . local trailer dealer was $429
