I just added some 55W driving lights to the truck. I just tapped into the High beams so when they are on, driving lights are on. After a few minutes, the high beams & driving lights will flicker OFF/ON for maybe a second or two. This will continue unless I switch it back to low beam. I thought it might be the fuse but if it was, wouldn't it just blow out? I checked all connections to see if loose but none were. It seems as though this starts after they warm up a bit. Is there any relays for the High beams? If so, where might I find them? Should I put a relay between high beams and driving lights. Gets dark some night up here and they certainly add light to the road. Just be easier to flick high beams on & off instead of reaching down to hit a switch all the time.
Thanks.

If you did not install a relay before the driving lights your probably burning up your light switch, theses switches are borderline on amperage capacity as it is, adding another set of lights into th circiut will most likley fry the switch, i fried 2 with just stock lighting ... ... ..... Rick

You definitely need to relay the system to get full power to those lights and your stock headlights. If you need a diagram, no problem, drop me a line.

A 3rd stress on the relay! The relay will relieve your switch of that extra amperage. I've had fog/driving lights on all my vehicles: lights+no relay=burnt switch. Every time! Run power from the battery to the relay, then from the high beam switch, line out to your lights, and a ground(I think) and you should be relayed! The relay should come with a diagram as to which wire goes on which terminal.

I have since installed a relay to my system and everything seems to be working just great. My brother had a relay with an old set of lights he never used so I just hooked them up and lights have not flickered yet. Thanks for everyones help that emailed me.
