I have a 90 Cummins Ram, and want to add a coolant filter. Has anyone done this and/or can anyone point me where to find any kind of kit? Thanks.

Welcome to the TDR.

Good question I have wondered about this also. I just never got around to looking.

If you got to the top of this page and click on user cp. On this page you can make what is called a signature. List the details of your truck there. It will save you from typing it out agin when ever you post a question on your truck.

There seems to be a solution for your case. Go to http://www.intellidog.com/dieselmann/filter.htm

about the middle of the page where you'll see the following:

94-97: FEK200P/S $125. 00

99/2000: FEK201P/S $125. 00

Dodge Cummins kits: 12 valve: $110. 00

24 valve: $145. 00

Replacement elements: NF2999

Dieselmann is down for the the next few days, and I expect to get another reply from him then. (He pointed me here). Just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with these.

Seems like the biggest problem would be finding a place to mount the bracket.

Looked like the kit was made to splice into the heater hoses. The hose look like they might be long enough to reach down for a frame mount.

I like mounting low on filters. It makes clean up it little easyer when it isn't pouring over the engine or chassis.

Thanks for the link.
