From reading the forums, it appears that our ball joints could use some grease fittings. I have read some threads elsewhere that people have drilled, tapped and added grease fittings. Sounds like a good idea, but I'm concerned with getting metal bits inside the joint which would be worse than no fittings at all. Has anyone added fittings and if so, how did you go about it to avoid damage to the ball joint. I have thought about drilling and tapping, then flushing the ball joint out, then greasing it good. Any opinions?

Well, I didn't want to go through all that. I just had 4 new ones installed by the dealer and I have already greased them with a very small needle grease gun adapter. I punched right through the rubber new the top of the joint on the back side. I pump a few times and watch the rubber boot expand a little and pull out the needle. the rubber seems like it pretty much seals right back up. I figure it can't be any worse than the 49,000 the originals made it.
