Anyone splice in a second set of say magnetic antennas for when camper on truck decreasing signal.

I see some M to F and F to M connectors that might make it possible and wonder if leaving both connected to the radio would cause any damage, possibly increase signal or make it worse. I just dont want to permanently remove factory sharkfin and relocate just for when camper on.

There are numerous electrical reasons you wouldn't want both connected at the same time. First an antenna system has a characteristic impedance that everything is designed to work at. When you use the splitter you are cutting the impedance in half which causes reflection of the signal rather than full power transfer. This is a bigger issue with transmitters than receivers but it does cause signal attenuation to the receiver. Second, by having two antenna to the same receiver you are introducing multi path which can cause signal cancellation and other issues.
