all ready moved lift pump to the rear under the bed years ago and want to add the fass pump how hard will it be? just alittle history the truck sat from thanksgiving to last week and when started i had 0 fuel pressure shut it off started again 3-4 psi repeated this again and had 11-12 psi truck ran fine all weekend I just think I need a new pump as always Thanks in advance Don Barr

If you get a fass ddrp pump you can get the relocation bracket for a few dollars extra and mount it where your carter pump is now on the frame. The carter relo bracket wont work as the fass is a bigger pump. You do have to drill holes though. On the old truck I did the big line kit with the carter pump on the rail. Switched to the ddrp pump and ran that for a few yrs, sold truck. I always had steady fuel pressure, never got below 10-11 psi. saw 18-20 at idle. The symptoms you desribe with your pump is the way my last carter went out and left me stranded in northern wv, not fun.

I just installed one in my '01 about a month ago. I wish I had installed last year. The improvement in PSI was fantastic. Pegged the gauge at 17 PSI. I relocated my factory pump about 10 years ago and have replaced it 5-6 time since then. I did use the old bracket even though I bought a new one with the pump from Geno's. I assume it's OK to mount the FASS pump horizontal. I did not use the banjo fittings since I had the fittings from the old pump that allowed me to rig everything inline. It took me about 3 hr. since I had to re-drill and tap the holes in the frame for the bracket (and it was a balmy 20* here in N. Utah) to allow enough room for the inline filter that Geno's sent with the FASS pump.
