On my 01 2500, I had the overloads but they don't engage til squatted. .
These are the roadmaster spring. They need a preload when the truck weight is off the wheels. So, when you add weight, it is progressive like extra springs... . BUT, since it is a coil spring, it is fairly good ride when empty. When loaded, it has the effect of like airbag suspension

The springs you see above is suporting this load... . The lower picture is with the trailer weight on the truck with the coil spring.

These pics, the load is on the truck. It weighs about 12000 on the trailer tires, 6300# on the drives, 4400# on steer.

In the picture above, I had the stock "E" tires and I opted to get the Ricksons Forged Aluminum 19. 5" rims and Michelin XDE-MS 245/70R-19. 5" "F" rated 12 ply tires in the pics below.

The truck has a slight up-rake when unloaded and the "F" rated tire are still hard (95 psi) it has a rough jar to it but still not bad... .
