I added 2" leveling kit months ago to help with 315 tires. My 36' Cedar Creek pushes the limit of my rear springs. I took the Timbrens off. They bounced us to death on our westward trip few weeks ago. I have scheduled trip to Charlotte for rear spring beefing up. I have noticed that all truck manufacturers have lengthened rear springs in last several years to soften ride. Pics to follow.

Is your truck a 2500? If so, maybe you should have purchased the 3500 dually. I think that what you are doing is better than air bags.

I would be concerned about all that pin weight on those bfg's. I have them on my 05 too but I have a much lighter trailer. Be sure your spring designer doesn't over do it or you won't be able drive the truck empty. :D

I had two full length leafs installed today and I asked them to raise my truck 3"s in the rear. Drove home for 45 miles and it rides great. Filled the fuel tank and both of us weighed and truck is 8020#s. Got home and loaded 5er. It made the rear squat one inch. Pics to follow.

Tires and wheels is next.

New ride

It has been long enough now to make a good judgement on the ride I have now with 2 new rear leaf springs. For sure it is a rougher ride empty. But the handling and ride with my 5er loaded is a world of difference. How this helps.

Thats why DC split the spring pack on the 3500. You get a good ride when empty, and plenty of beef when you load it up.

On my 01 2500, I had the overloads but they don't engage til squatted. .

These are the roadmaster spring. They need a preload when the truck weight is off the wheels. So, when you add weight, it is progressive like extra springs... . BUT, since it is a coil spring, it is fairly good ride when empty. When loaded, it has the effect of like airbag suspension

The springs you see above is suporting this load... . The lower picture is with the trailer weight on the truck with the coil spring.

These pics, the load is on the truck. It weighs about 12000 on the trailer tires, 6300# on the drives, 4400# on steer.

In the picture above, I had the stock "E" tires and I opted to get the Ricksons Forged Aluminum 19. 5" rims and Michelin XDE-MS 245/70R-19. 5" "F" rated 12 ply tires in the pics below.

The truck has a slight up-rake when unloaded and the "F" rated tire are still hard (95 psi) it has a rough jar to it but still not bad... .
