Adding tow mirrors to 2500?

A buddy bought a 2017 Ram 2500 Tradesman with the non towing mirrors and has to add extensions when towing.
Is it an easy swap to add the flip out tow mirrors?

It should be. There is a temperature sensor mounted in i believe the passenger mirror. You might have to have the truck programmed to recognize the new mirrors and the switch that functions to change their position while in the up or down position. Just get a pair that matches your year and see if they work. If not have them programmed. I am sure others have done this and will have better details.
