Kent... I see you are on at this moment and wondered if we adjusted our Fox or Bilsteins (mine is Fox) for town and country driving by lowering the nitrogen pressure in them. I am a little too stiff empty and just fine hammering the backroads. But more often than not I am on blacktop back and forth to town or down the highway and wondered if 100 lbs might make a nicer ride. George

My kings seem to ride best between 130psi and 150psi, less than that and they seem to get rougher in the light washboards and on the highway, very noticably rougher below 100psi.

Jared

Lowering nitrogen levels will cause cavitation. A loud clunking sound of the oil passing the piston. Not Recommended!!! The Fox system should be charged to 200 PSI. If your truck is to stiff, maybe try another/ softer front spring.

Greg, or anyone who knows,

Do you know if you can put the Kore Bilstein 5100s on a truck without changeing the springs? Are the Kore shocks different than normal 5100s you would purchase from any reseller? I do not want to change my ride height but I would like better shocks. Thanks for any info.

I am sure they are longer than you could use with a stock truck.

Greg

Greg... do the mini-paks stiffen the rear ride over the stock slabs? I seem to recall it was designed to initialize movement over stock. George

The mini packs let you remove the heavy overload springs. They are 1' thick piece of heavy metal. The mini's are a progressive pack, allowing full movement of the axle to achieve maximum articulation. I wouldn't say they are stiffer or softer. Just more flexible and complaint. When I would load a trailer to the truck, with the stock springs the tailgate would be lowered by 2 inches. Now it lowers two inches also.

This is going to be my deciding factor about your suspension, if you remove the overloads will this lower the hauling capacity. I Carry about 1000 pounds of fuel in the back of the truck at all times and I don't want to run around with my front way up in the air.

I was looking to buy the Pace system

My 2nd Gen has different rear springs than your 3rd gen but... .

My camper is about 3000 lbs and rides higher with the mini packs than it did with the factory overloads. I think you would be well into the "grossly overloaded" category before you give up any load capacity with the KORE mini packs, I've had about 4200 lbs on mine before and that was a bit much but 3500lbs seems to work fine.

First things first here.....

The suspension is not mine ;) It is Kore made by Kent Kroeker!!!! Not me. I am just the resident expert! :)

The pace system will be fine for load hauling. The trucks sit about 1/2 inch lower in the front with these systems. It should be fine but I will contact KORE and ask to be sure... .

Greg

Cat... I do KORE Fox with 3rd gen 3500 SRW. I use the taller spring in front and kept my overloads. I carry a spacer that takes up the room between the overload stops and overload springs so when I load 4000# of camper the weight sets on the overloads right away. Otherwise the minipaks work fine for my 600 lbs of fuel and whatever normal stuff I am hauling. I am actually considering a 3 or 4 spring overload. George

shocks not springs

It appears you can do this, not raise truck but use shocks. the following is a response I got from Kent to my question to him

"Your truck's height should increase about 2" with our suspension.

Some people like to run our shocks without changing coils. It's not the

best thing to do, but if height is a concern, then at least you can get good

damping.

Kent"

I have ordered complete chase system and should be installed on February 7
