installed, the wheel back on the spindle.
what is the proper procdure for tightening
the wheel bearing?working on a99.
thanks

Tighten nut to 30-40 ft pounds to preload bearings while rotating hub/rotor. Stop hub/rotor and loosen nut to completely release bearing preload torque. Tighten the nut finger tight and install the nut lock. Install new carter pin. The end play should be 0. 001-0. 003 in. ( from 99 manual)

you know, there are a thousand ways people adjust them. Everyone has their own trick, But as the other replier stated, use a dial indicator against the rotor and accurately set them. I do all of mine at . 003-. 005. They will last a long time loose, but not long at all too tight. RRR
