Can someone tell me an easy procedure to adjusting the Voyager II . I tried to follow the booklet but I am doing something wrong. Thanks RJ

When you plug in the trailer, the green (or yellow or red) light on your controller should light up. There is a quarter sized dial on the right side of the controller, which you turn to adjust the braking of the trailer brakes. Put you foot on the brake pedal and adjust the controller to where it turns red, then back it off until it just turns green.

RJ, the knob on the left side of the controller is the level knob, the right one is the gain(amount of braking) The left knob MUST be adjusted before the right can be set correctly. Truck must be on level surface to perform this adjustment correctly. On the right knob, there is a mark (notch), rotate the top of this knob toward the front of the vehicle untill the notch is in the 5 o'clock position, now turn the knob on the left toward front of vehiclse until the light just starts to change color to red, rotate it in opposit direction until light just fades from red to orange. Now rotate the right knob (gain) until the notch is straight up(12 o'clock position) Hook up trailer and tow at low speed (25 mph) engage manual overide bar by sliding all the way to left, if trailer brakes lock up, decrease gain by rotating rt. knob back toward you, if braking is not enough, rotate knob toward front of truck. Repeat this step until the brakes are adjusted to youor satisfaction. bg

B. G. , Thanks for the reply. My unit tilts down . as long as I set it after I get it in position will that be correct. Thanks

Set

Yes, set it after it is in the position where you are going to use it. It will have to be reset any time it is tilted from that position. bg

Adjusting Voyager 11

Do trying to be a smart *&^$,but the best way to adjust a Voyager II brake controler. Is to remove it and install a PRODIGY brake controller The sure way to stop a trailer with Elec. brakes. Read the posts they are almost as good as Diesel RAM. Have one and love it:cool:
