Adjustment of front band on 99 auto transmission

I have the pan off on my 99 2500 with auto transmission. I have heard there is another method of adjusting the front band using a 1\4 guage or drill bit. instead of the torque method.



If anyone has used this method and has information on how to accomplish the adjustment let me know.



I have adjusted the rear band the last time the pan was off, did not have correct adapter to reach and adjust front band using the torque method.
