How can I do a multi-word string search, or phrase search?



For example, to search for the string "Mary had a little lamb".

I believe you just put it in quotes, but I'm not sure... at the very least, you can just search for each word with 'AND' between them.

There is no way to do a phrase search in this version of vBulletin. There is a new version of vB which has just been released which we will be moving to down the road once a number of high traffic sites have converted and we know it will be stable and usable. Improved search features is one of the things that version has. If it doesn't support phrase searches then I will be adding that. For now one thing that will help you narrow your searches is to change the search to "show results as posts" instead of the default "show results as threads". It will then search for your terms just inside of one post instead of on the whole thread.
