Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) advice on best upgrades for additional 50hp on 96 230 hp motorhome

Parked next to a fellow camper here in Hemet, Ca. and the cummins power upgrade discussion came up. Could someone help to enlighten on a much discussed subject as to how to best tweak this 12 valve in a class A motorhome without causing problems with the allison 6 speed? It is rated at 230 hp in its current configuration. Thanks for any help!!

a cam plate and governor springs are about the best way to go. Sometimes you need some extra rpms (like while climbing a hill) and the governor springs will help out with that. The plate will give you a better fuel, sometimes leading to better fuel milage. Those are relatively cheap also. With a plate, you can always turn down the power or turn it up if needed. Also a boost control elbow will help with getting the air in there.
