Ok I will start out by saying sorry if there has been tons of threads like this but I need fresh info! I am having DTT trans installed (vb+tc) this friday and while there I am having injectors installed and a comp edge... ... I am getting a deal on DDII's because they are used (Less than 1100 miles +$400. 00) but still have not made my mind on the DDII's or do the III's. I dont want to waste my time and money with the II's and the want the III's later. Can someone advice me on sticking with the II's or going ahead with the III's? Pros? Cons? Oh yea the last week in July I will be upgrading my turbo to the HX-35 14cm exhaust housing. Again Thanks for the help!!!:D :) ;)

Do you tow? If so, you might stay with the II's. However, it sounds like you are already on the fence as far as whether or not to get the III's. You know it never fails, at some point you're going to wish you had went ahead, spent the extra $$ and got the III's. Decisions, decisions. :{

I like my DDII's. If you are planning on utilizing an HX35 w/ 14 housing I would stick with the II's. You (and I both) are flirting with needing an HX40 to manage EGT's and I'm waiting on the same turbo (PDR version) your getting. I really can't use my Comp past level 2 because of the EGT factor until I upgrade the turbo.

Our trucks are very similiar and with my setup I pulled 380 RWHP and 805 FT lb of torque.

Good Luck, Kevin

Get the 3's! If you don't you will only wish you had later and end up kicking yourself or spending more $$... ...

Just my $. 02 worth.

What Jetpilot said. My first set of injectors where 275's. I thought that was all I wanted, then I bought the DD3's and I am happy. But I am getting a bigger turbo now so maybe supermetals or BD5's in the future.

If you tow get the 2's other than that get 3's.

PS I run the 3's with a PDR-HX35-12 and a PE/EZ. I can see 1500 deg in the summer and about 1300 in the winter. I am going to get either an PDR-HX40 or a B1 (still deciding).

Thanks!I believe I have decided to go with the III's. Will I be ok to run the smaller turbo for a few weeks until I upgrade? That is another thing I am worrying about!

I think you'll be fine for a few weeks, just ease into the throttle and ease out. Avoid stomping it to the floor with low boost until you get the new turbo.

You will be fine with that turbo for a bit... . I ran Super Mentals and a HX-35 for a couple months. Just watch you foot and don't bury the EGT's too long.

How long can you run stoopid temps on the gauge before backing out? I'm looking at III's and a Comp on the stock turbo and straight 3" so I need to know. :rolleyes:
