Anyone running this intake? Seems real nice, especially with the Dryflow Filter, and half the price of an AFE Stage 2 from most dealers. I did hear that this intake is a little louder than some of the others, not that it would bother me (my silencer ring is already gone), but just wanted a little feedback. It sure is better looking with the polished aluminum tube as well.

I've had one on for about 6 months. It really makes the turbo whistle, but it's not annoying or anything. I don't have any comments on cleaning or anything as I haven't cleaned it yet.

My only complaint is there is a tab welded onto the intake pipe that attaches a rubber isolater to the heat sheild... it is welded too close to the end of pipe and the filter wants to slide off the tube. I fixed mine by grinding the weld down.

The price seems fair for what you get.

I think you just vacuum it or blow it out with low pressure air just like the Donaldson Ea filters. Any idea on flow numbers on it? Can't seem to find any specs anywhere. I'm just all set on paying $400+ for an AFE intake that I have to keep cleaning and oiling.

Any specs on how well it filters? I know the AFE ProGuard & filters very well while flowing lots of air. . The K&N filters flow well but let in a lot of finer dust.

When I got mine, it shipped with 1 8 oz bottle of a filter cleaner & a bottle of rinse. I think you dilute the cleaner into a 5 gal bucket of water, swish it around for awhile then start over with the 2nd bottle of stuff. Repeat the swishing around then let it air dry.

Also, the AEM website has filtering and flow data and also a short video clip on cleaning the thing. Best thing to do would buy a 2nd filter so you wouldn't have to wait on the clean one to dry.

I have a Scotty II and clean my filter and let it STAND for a year while I use the other one that has been standing for a year.

The reason I stand it up is it will drip some of the excess oil over the year.

AEM Brute Force

I purchased one about two months ago on clearance for only $160. 00. Was a little worried for that price it wasn't going to perform very well, but I'm very pleased with both it's appearance and performance. Have removed silencer ring and it sounds great, jet like whistle, with a noticable gain in H. P. and mileage. I see RPM outlet has them for $199. 00. I don't think you'll be disapppointed.

Wow!!!!

Thanks for the tip on RPM Outlet! Their prices are great!!!!!!!!! Their exhaust systems don't look too bad either for the money. Looks like I'll have to warm up the plastic tonight... :-laf

I installed the AEM BruteForce today for my 98. 5 24 Valve CTD and can say that it was a fairly simple install. As far as performance yet I have yet to really play with it and see what she will do. I sense a little more hp from the throttle response and can say that the intake system does make a very nice sound. I still have my silencer ring installed and love to sound this intake makes. Over all not a bad filter kit but i will definately see if i can noticeably tell a significant hp difference, if the AFE promises 50 hp it might have been the better route since thats what everyone seems to strive for but half the price and I just installed a banks monster exhaust system with power elbow soo im running low on funds. I also wanted to see if anyone had installed the Putco Virtual Grille Part # 31103 and their comments on that. I recently purchased one and waiting on their arrival as well as some comments if any.
