Aero Turbine muffler....Drone in overdrive?

I put a Aero 4040XL resonated 4" muffler and a cat delete pipe on my 06 quad cab. LOVE the sound!!!! My only complaint is my truck shifts into Overdrive around 53-55 mph and till around 60mph there is a awful drone. Once I hit 60mph and the rpm come up it is gone. Cruising down the highway at 70 + it sounds perfect. I can push the Overdrive button and that helps alot but it resets everytime I turn the key off.



Should I replace the muffler or can I change the speed my truck changes into overdrive? I would like the overdrive not to kick in till around 60mph. I would rather change the shift point than the muffler. Any suggestions?!?

Paul Fox@Defiant Truck Products installed a Shuttleworth HD diesel muffler on my '07. It's a direct splice in,affords a throatier sound and far less restriction and no drone. This is not the straight through one he has advertised. I can't attest to its characteristics. Paul's owned Orange Muffler for two decades and is pretty sharp.

I was thinking about a 2nd muffler, but even if it is a straight threw design muffler wouldn't it defeat the purpose of free flowing exhaust? I am also looking into programmers that I can change shift points. The only time the drone it bad is when it shifts from 3rd to overdrive to early and lugs... ... if I could find a programmer to delay that shift from 53mph to 58mph I think it would be fine.

All i have is an Aeroturbine mounted forward of where the original muffler was. No drone. The farther back you mount the muffler, the more likely you will have drone.
