How much luck are the users of socketless fittings having. Any pressure or vacuum leaks to speak of? Looks like some good stuff. I'd prefer to not use SS braided hose. I prefer the look and price of black hose with black anodized fittings. Kinda gives it that factory look. Plus they are about the easiest thing to assemble... lubricate and press together.

very good success with them, we use them in our business almost excusively. I have them on my ram fuel pressure gauge. I will never again use the braided stuff, too hard to work with and I have experianced leaks using it.

hmmm...

I have assembled many braided stainless steel (Teflon core and neoprene core) hoses with steel (stainless and plated) as well as anodized aluminum fittings with great success for over 25 years... without so much as one leak!

I have also used the Aeroquip Socketless hose and fittings with good success. However, ozone checking on the hoses began to show up after a year or two from the initial installation (using Aeroquip's black Socketless hose... in two different sizes no less).

... just something to keep an eye out for.

BTW, the braided stainless steel A/N hose and fittings WILL NOT leak IF assembled properly (i. e. , EXACTLY as detailed in Aeroquip's catalog).

Also, another heads-up...

DO NOT let the braided stainless steel hoses come in contact with ANYTHING you do not want destroyed... i. e. , protect those components/surfaces with some sort of insulating device(s).
