First post here, just joined, but have been lurking for a long time.
I have read most of the posts on the Aeroturbine Muffler and TAG and decided to try them out. Put the TAG in before the exhaust was done and did not notice that much difference at all, but I am running a Ram Air III for the last 20k and that had already taken up quite a bit of the spool up issues I think. Did not take the TAG out to see if there was a difference, may try that soon.
The day before Xmas I replaced the down pipe with 4" from the turbo and installed the Aeroturbine just behind the cross member under the transmission, installed 4" all the way to the tailpipe where I had cut it off the muffler and a SS tip on the tailpipe. Man does this thing sound awsome now and a serious SOP performance gain (best yet and feels like it will out run my buddies SO Auto with his EZ on Level 3), finally this thing can breath and I can hear it breathing. Noise is not too loud, with most of the sound going out the rear, the cab noise is not too noticeable at all. My fuel gauge seems to moving a little slower now too, but I will not know how much until the next fill up in a week or so. Have not towed with it since the exhuast but can't wait to see what it will do.
Thanks to Dave at Diesel Power Products for his support and advice. This started out as an experiment that I thought would be too loud, but its a keeper.
Now I am just waiting for the new boxes to come out and I can play a little more.
