Finally got my new Fleetguard filter from Geno's. I put it in and take the truck out. Now keep in mind the last filter was pretty dirty and it had the foam prefilter on it. This new one does not. I am driving and everything feels good but I notice it takes less boost now to get going than it did before. Where a cruise on the Expressway I'd be at lets say 7 or 8 PSI I'd now be a bit less. Now wide open I only get about 16 or 17 mayby 18 on a rare occasion PSI's of boost . I guess cause the truck is basically stock except for the muffler removal and that silly silencing baffle in the turbo? Do these numbers sound about right? But Im just curious why my boost would be less at the same RPM and speed than it was with the dirty filter. If I want to accelerate and pass someone the truck goes but the boost is less.

All hose clamps and such are tight! No leaks that I know of anywhere.

The engine isn't working as hard, boost is coming up faster and the load is less. You should be able to reach peak boost faster, but to build boost there has to be a load on the engine.
