I'm trying to get things to spool a little quicker. Right now my afc housing is full forward with a #10 plate. Low end spool is slow, (better when it is cooler out, wich leads me to believe too much fuel for oxyagen) any ways, should I try and take this out by moving the afc housing back and turning up the star wheel. I seam to get plenty of smoke right now. Is the fuel just comming on to soon and too hard? The smoke is more dark grey and brown than black. I tried just moving the plate back and lost acceleration.

Thanks

Jeremy

Jeremy... .

Tuning the AFC to work with your big fueling plate is a must to attain a strong running truck. It may involve a spring change inside the AFC to get the neccessary results your looking for. You can start with sliding it back and forth and adding and taking away clicks on the starwheel to see where you end up at. it also may be a deal where you may desire to dyno the truck to see what helps or hurts although its not a neccessary deal. You also could check the AFC on the bench with a air source to see at what PSI its actually moving and working for you... ... . Andy

Ok, heres what I ended up doing. Slide the plate forward 1/8th, losssened star wheel a total of 25 clicks. Really woke up my truck. Darker smoke, about the same amount, but higher egts. Fun to drive again. Doesnt require as much pedal to accelerate. Id did all of this in about 5 trys. A little at a time. Any ideas as to how to drop my temps about 300 degrees, without moving the plate back?:rolleyes
