afe air filter/box

I noticed a lot of you are running the afe system and was wondering how it affects warranty (assuming the breakage wasn't caused by the air intake). Also, assuming I don't go with the whole box, does the drop-in filter improve performance that much more over the stock air filter. Would appreciate your thoughts.

I built my own, but remove it and put stock unit back in for trips to realership.

The AFE drop in has the exact dimensions of the stock filter. It is of much higher quality than stock and provides greater airflow and greater intervals between servicing. Any dealer would be hard pressed to deny warranty because of this. I personally have had no issues with warranty and have never heard of an issue with the drop-in filter. Don't expect any noticible leaps in performance. You would need to dyno to find out for sure but any improvement would be minimal and therefore difficult to detect.

I went to the dealer with the whole AFE system installed. Their only comment was, "nice air filter, does it help?" Guess it depends on the dealership...
