AFE Air Filter with Amsoil dual by-pass

Tried to install my Amsoil dual by-pass filter with John’s battery box adapter. The dual by-pass oil filter housing hits the air cleaner hose going to the turbo . Has anybody experienced this problem using the same setup as mine and if so were you able to work around it.

Cliffman, I used a file to round off the corner and sharp edges, 2 years, no problems.

Yours fit and all you had to do is file down the corners and you are using the AFE filter? Mine hits big time I don't think filing down the corner will be quite enough in my situation. Maybe it's the difference between the year of our trucks. would you mind sending a pic of your installation to my email address?

What fulltime said will work. I have seen it. My truck is a 2500, but it's the same set up as yours. I haven't done it to mine yet. All I did was get a piece of the tire patch from Pep Boys, it's basically just a square piece of rubber stuff, and zip tied it to the intake hose. So the corner of the bypass mount digs into the piece of rubber instead of the hose. It doesn't look pretty but it works.



Filing down the corner will work, plus it will look better also.

Cliffman, I put my dual bypass setup on this past weekend and it did hit the hose from the AFE really bad. However, I took it back off cause I had almost NO oil pressure. I hooked it up by the instructions and check everything and then reversed the oil hoses just to see and had the same readings. I did not trust it so I removed it. How's your oil pressure?

rono, all I can say is :--) . That sure dosent sound right. Never got around to hooking it all up due to the AFE air hose hitting. Maybe some others with there bypass system hooded up will reply to your post. I'm looking forward to seeing those replys my self

Block... big time! by the way, tires work awsome going over Vail pass and coming through Utah during big snow strom!
