Cool Twist Turbo

My truck was running poorly so I removed my Raptor(EZ), AFE and installed the stock air box while I was at it. Truck was quiet and ran good. Last night I installed an Edge Comp and re-installed my AFE. I noticed that the Turbo was clean after a month with just the stock air box whereas before it would always have an oily residue on it with the AFE. Did my AFE come from the factory with too much oil on it? Have others had similar dealings?

Thanks

I have run an aFe for the last 35k miles and not had any problems with it. My TT is clean and dry, and I have cleaned and oiled the aFe several times. It was pre-oiled at the factory and after that, I used the spray on oil. I check the tube for signs of water or oil ingestion and so far have found it clean and dry. I sometimes pull 40-42psi boost through it, so if it had a problem, I should have seen it by now.
