Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) AFE and V/A with stock Automatic?

Think I'll start tearing up the stock transmission with an AFE and V/A box?

You should be ok if you drive like a sane human. But if you drive like me..... your transmission is screwed.



The AFE wont give you much of anything on a relatively stock truck.



the VA is good for 60 HP and 160 FtxLbf at 1900 RPM, and it tapers off at higher RPM.

I have this exact same set up, and so far no problems. Have had VA for years, just put the AFE and a 4" exhaust on. Truck pulls like a mule. Mileage went up too. Feel free to shoot me an email... .....

Yeah I have VA and the AFE and dumped the muffler. The AFE and minus the muffler seems to make the turbo spool faster now. Took the VA off that week cause I wasn't sure if it was still working. Once I took it off I new it was working. Gonna do VB and TC next then probably dd2's. Can't wait.
