Well, I've had about enougth of the oiled filter(AFE pro guard 7) and have switched back to the stock air box. I am going to cut a 4" hole in the bottom of the box and run a hose down and use a 90 degree elbow and build a scoope out of aluminum and mount it so that it is just under the bumper a little to create a positive air presure in the air filter box to help with the flow. I did this on one of my past trucks and you could actually feel the difference when I would plug it off for winter as I don't need the horsepower or the cold air on slick roads and most of my heavy towing is done in the spring, summer and fall.
I got tired of cleaning the filter, giving it a couple of days to dry, then oiling it and waiting a couple of days before I would use it. No matter how little oil I put on it, it would be dry in a couple of weeks and the inside of the intake tube would be coated with oil and the pre filter screen would be saturated and plugged up from the dirt glueing itself to it. I will stick to paper from now on and on future trucks as this is the only way to be sure that I am not pluging up the intercooler and seeing oil on the turbo fins. #@$%!
