AFE Intake Manifold

I finally got enough time to take a few pics of the new AFE intake manifold. The dipstick tube mounting is not stock set-up. I had to add the bracket due to the Carli shock tower brace. (Got to have a stiff front end :-laf)On stock applications it is a direct mount just like OEM.

Sorry I should have said mine is a pre production piece,I haven't heard the release date yet. I did see the artwork on the boxes they will be shipped in so hopefully it will be soon. I will be camping with the AFE crew next week end so I will ask then.

There are holes pre tapped,and more built up bosses for the crazzies that need it all I have a pdf file with more info at home I will try to post when I get a lil more time.

Black is the color offered:-laf. On my 2nd gen I got carried away with chrome and blue,the 3rd gen will remain simple... ... ... ... . black.

There are directional vanes in the turn to keep the velocity up... ..... never thought about taking pics.

Hey Bob. Very attractive piece. AFE has a nice looking, and what appears to be functional design, as dyno looks good too. Is it aluminum cast? Could be polished up and clear coated or custom powder coated too. Directional vanes would help the air flow/velocity, but like all the other intake horns it still becomes restricted because of the inlet/outlet sizes. Nice.

Yup. cast aluminum,2 pre tapped holes and 3 more bosses. Inovative bolt design and no worries about high boost with race twin turbo set ups running extreme boost.

I towed the trailer out to Pismo beach a couple weeks back,it was a noticable differance in how it pulled the at lower rpm up the grades. I averaged 15mpg at speeds between 55-75 depending on traffic.

No pics of the inside... ... ... . to busy to spend the time to tear it off,so many projects so little time.
