I am about to order the afe Magnum force intake system.

Just looking for any Pros or cons on this system.

My truck is 100% stock at this time.

Thanks

I have a magnum force kit on my 24valve. Love it to death, I would definately buy another one. The only downside to these filters is the turbo noise. I love the noise myself, but some (girlfriend) and a few others find it annoying. I have my silencer ring out as well. My dad has a Scotty II. I think its probably every bit as good as mine, more than likely better with the cowl hole but the noise it makes with the cowl hole cut is a lot more harsh than my afe. He runs it in hush mode most of the time except for when towing. With a stock truck such as yours I dont know what difference you may feel performance wise, but if you have guages you see a drop in EGT. I did for sure. Someone did a test between the two filters. Run a search and youll find more info than you can imagine. Hope this helps.

There is a new AFe with a different element that was discussed on here a few weeks ago. It's blue and quieter, I don't remember the details, try a search.

In installed an AFE system on my stock truck in August. I have noticed a decrease in fuel mileage since the install (I record fuel used vs. distance). I suspect the lower EGT's made the engine less efficient. I did not have gauges at the time so the EGT suspicion is just that. My driving habits did not change with the installation of the filter either.

The new element is a Pro Guard 7 and its a yellow element. The blue is a prefilter sock and they come in four colors including blue.

I took mine off and sold it. It was flat out irritating going down the interstate holding 20 psi up hills. It certainly helped out the EGT's but, the noise wasn't worth it to me.

There has to be a better way.

I recently bought one for my truck and it came with paperwork that said it was a proguard 7 filter. My filter is blue

Mine sucked......dirt

I started getting crummy oil analysis shortly after getting mine.

Lowered the egt's but caused excessive and premature engine wear. :{

After finally figuring out that it was sucking dirt, the stock airbox w/amsoil filter went back in.

Viola... ... clean oil analysis.

I also called up their customer service, and was basically told too bad. Yea, too bad I spent $200 on their air cleaner that appears to be defective, not enough media in it to hold the oil.
