AFE Mega-cannon and hole in firewall/cowl

The AFE filter has filter media in the end and sits about 2-3 inches from the firewall where the psycotty hole would be.



I'm thinking that drilling a hole would be another good source of cooler air for the AFE??



Anyone who has taken off their psycotty and has an "open hole" still there, does ANYTHING come down into the engine compartment from the cowl... . water, debris, etc. ? I won't drill if this is a source for contamination.

Nadda on mine. If it did then the Scotty would not work very well to start with. I have the BHAF now but the hole is still there. When I first put the Scotty in, I extensively pressure washed in that area without ever getting water in the filter (course I had a bag stuffed in the filter).



If you do put the big hole in, remember to get a 4" truck tailight grommet to dress it up. I think I would focus on piping more air in from the front somehow.
