I am interested in buying an AFE intake system for my 04. 5/600 but am concerned about warrantee issues should something go wrong with the motor. Can anyone tell me with absolute certainty that DC will back their product with AFE intake systems installed? I have already asked my dealer about it but they are holding the paty line... "any modifications to the engine blah blah blah... ... " I would accept that stance but there was NO conviction in their position and I'm not even sure they understood what the product was. I would think that DC would recoginze that an engine mod such as an AFE intake system is non-invasive and passive; allowing more clean air into an air pump to produce more power and better mileage is a good thing.

If you look into your warranty it does not say anything about aftermarket parts voiding your warranty. If anything they would have to prove that the filter and tube were the cause of damage to deny repair which would be next to impossible. You always have the option to remove and put your stock airbox back in to service your truck just to rid yourself of retarded service writers ideas remember there just salesmen of a different department its all about the $$$ with them.

I recall reading on this site, or one of the other Cummins/Dodge sites, that the AFE PG7 Filter, was recommened/endorsed by Cummins. This was before the torque tube was introduced and was for the filter alone.

All I can say is that when I took my rig in last week with the AFE in it, the service tech didnt say anything to me about it, and I also saw that in the parts department, they actually sold the PG-7's, in addition to K&N stuff.
