Air Dog

Twins are almost done!

I ordered a second AFE Pro-Guard 7 filter for my AFE Air Intake (Kit #75-10631) Stage I ordered last July for my HO 600. I wanted to have a filter to put on so I could clean one without being in a hurry. Then I could swap filters when needed for cleaning. Cleaning is another story I won't even start.

My question is the replacement filter I got was the correct part number according to the AFE site and the part number on my original invoice. The new one is different. The original filter had the cone filtering area from the bottom into the center of the filter. The new one has a solid bottom and no cone filtering area inside. Much less filtering area and I would think a little less air flow. Has anyone ordered a replacement Pro-Guard 7 and does it have the cone filtering area in the center??

Mark,

Thanks,

That is what I have decided happened. The original filter was the same gold/yellow as a Pro-Guard 7, so I did not really know any different. I just did not check the box when I picked up the parts. The invoice showed correct number, but the filter has a standard number on it. Oh well, at least I used a Pre-Filter the whole time. I am not sure if I will mess with the standard filter, it is a pain to clean and re-oil with the inverted cone.
