Hey there, 2 weeks ago I installed my AFE pro guard 7 full intake, I used the piece of black hose that they send to plumb up the filter minder. I can now easily drop the filter minder to 100%:--) .

before with the stock box, and a 4" drain pipe facing forward I could not get it past 65%, even with 28,000 miles on the dodge filter.

Not that I put alot of weight in the filterminder readings, but dang. anyone else with this intake seeing the same thing?

could the hose used to hold the filterminder be throwing it off that much? The filterminder is no longer protruding into the intake tube. I can't figure out why they have the filterminder setup this way, instead of just a hole on the intake tube like the oem tube.

Thanks for your thoughts!

did you mount your filter minder with that short piece of black rubber hose?

I know they did had faulty readings, but this is the same filter minder on the stock intake. I just switched it over to the PG7. Is the PG7 intake that much more restrictive?

My filter minder has never moved. It did'nt move with the sock filter and it has not moved with the Proguard 7. I have very little confidence in it.

A simple U-tube manometer could be fabricated with clear P. V. C. and a yard stick , just remember to toal both sides of the rule. I'll check the service manual for the spec's , but they probally don't reflect real world values. ie. . cost of change out/mpg benifit/filter efficiancy. I would favor mpg (power) as the qualifier for change out and this would most likely call for a additional gauge to be mounted in the cab to monitor dynamic trends rather than an intermitant peak ! I think I just talked myself into it.
