I am holidaying in the San Antonio area for a few days and than on towards Corpus Christi. I need a new Proguard 7 and I would like to know of any stores that may carry the filter. Since I am travelling I am unable to clean and reoil mine. I didn't bring a spare as I should not have needed one for the trip but there was a lot of dirt in the air in Arizona. I can't order one on the internet as we are not in one place long enough to have one sent. TIA.

I tried looking on AFE's site for a dealer link, but they only give the option of looking for online dealers. You might want to contact AFE at 866-503-9911 and ask them for dealers in the San Antonio area.

If you can get your hands on a San Antonio phone book you can look in the yellow pages and surely find a dealer. Sorry I couldn't help you more.

How long has it been since you changed or cleaned this filter? This type of filter has a reputation of working more efficiently when dirty. Thee big chunks help filter out the smaller chunks.

I have a PG-7 in my '03 & live in Phoenix, AZ. Lots of dust. The filter doesn't require much maintainance & that is verified by used oil analysis. The oil does not have much silicon ( sand/dirt) in it.

If you have a filter-minder, check it. However, my trucks filter-minder had the wrong spring, in it, & would pull down with one full-throttle run on a clean filter.

If you have the PG-7 "drop-in filter", why not just get a stock filter from a Cummins dealer. It will get you home or to an area where you have the time to clean the PG-7.

Hope this helps.

Do you know where you will be staying in Corpus Christi? Can you order one online from San Antonio, but have it delivered to someplace in CC? That way it will be waiting for you when you get there. We have done that before in our travels. Call the RV park you will be staying at and explain the situation to them. Most of them will hold packages or mail for you for a few days if you know where you will be staying.

Good luck... ... Steve
