I am about to get to 100,000 miles on my 2007 6. 7 cummins and am worried like heck that the turbo is about to go out, the cel lite still comes on occasionaly and I have been hearing a noise from the right side of the engine sometimes, like turbo rattle or something, its running actually great right now. My question is does Dodge sell a warranty that one can buy that covers the engine and transmission after the factory 100k warranty runs out, I still dont trust this turkey and need some kind of insurance so i wont have to repair a much of stuff just after the factory warrany on the engine runs out, I am sure scared i still have a lemon engine that was ruined by the out of date flashes and egr valves and throttle controls that went out under the warranty, who has a extended warranty, who did u buy if from and how much did it cost and do you recomend it to other 6. 7 owners. Thanks in advance

I don't believe in purchasing extended warranty from anyone other than the vehicle manufacture. Too many after market warranty are scams. Read the fine print.

Check with your insurance provider. They're usually a very good policy, at about half the price you would pay with any secondary supplier or a dealer.

The extended warranty is nothing more than an insurance policy. You and the insurance company are making a bet: They're betting you won't need the policy, and you're betting you're going to need it.

I hope it's better now than it was when mine was new , I looked at extended warranties and no one would cover a diesel . so I just did it myself main problems I had were fuel lines , and starter , until about 257k and then the whole motor ( broken crank) . then I had to get another motor, put it in and have been going again for about a year. It really ****** me of when that crank went but stuff happens.

You have reason to worry. The exhaust components are like $10k!!! Turbo $3K installed. I checked on dodge.com (think it was) but downpipe with the nox is $3,600, DPF $2,200.

I'm don't trust my '08 either. From what I've read elsewhere dealers are looking for any reason to void warranty work. As far as extened warranties - too much fine print & uncertainty.
