I have added a fuel filter (spin on) cat 1r-0750 to my 2001 Dodge Ram 3500. I used the two seat bolts for drivers seat by replacing the bolts with longer and fabbed a bracket. Now filter is 7 inches long and extends down about 1 inch less than transmission crossmember bracket. Can’t find filter 2.0 micron 1-14 thread and 5-6 inches long.will I be ok with this setup?
Just looking for opinions or suggestions. Thanks to all you gear heads.

All the filters in that series are about the same size, but the Donaldson P551313 and DBL5814 are both slightly shorter. They are both slightly better filters than the Cat 1R-0750 too. The Cat 1R-0750 is a 4µ filter by modern (2004) specs, thou it's plenty for a 2nd gen. The best filter, IMO, in that series is the FF5814.

Not sure of thread sizes on Fleetguards? Might be an option. Or move to out side of frame rail high, just behind bed support.

A bigger question is where is the pump ?. If it is after the tank and before the filters, in the tank or stock.

Those are all 1-14" filters that cross to each other. The 5814's are the improved versions.

David, I have a dealer installed in tank pump with 100k miles on it. With Vulcan big line kit (1/2 inch). Goes from tank to vp44 and has 12 lbs at idle and 9at WOT.

That is probably a good thing as it is better to push fuel through than suck it through. I just do not know how it will effect your delivery to the VP.

I mentioned earlier I was looking for 1-14 thread.should be 1-16. Found Baldwin 5.5 inches 2 micron so should be ok
