My headlights seem kind of dim on High beam,2004 ram . Question,PIAA or silverstar bulbs,as replacments. Looking for long life bulbs and brightness, any thoughts. Thanks. coobie:) :)

Don't waste your money on the Piaa's. They won't last a year. So far the Silverstars have been great. Brighter than stock and holding up too.

I recently installed Sylvania Xtravision bulbs. They claim they are 20% brighter. This is one of the bulbs recommended on the Daniel Stern web site.

They are a bit brighter but I didn't gain as much as I'd hoped. The pattern on low beams is more "filled in" but the high beams are still lacking. I think there is a major problem with the design of the reflector and, even if 100 watt bulbs were installed, the high beams would still be lacking. And, with high wattage, I imagine the plastic headlight assembly wouldn't last long.

I guess I'll look for aftermarket bulbs that I can mount to my bumper. The problem is choosing from the many available. I'd like an assembly that shoots a narrow beam that I can focus on the road and hopefully, won't blind oncoming drivers. Impossible to find??

The stockers are far better than my 93's but when I'm on the freeway and rite next to somebody else in a modern car, theirs are usually much better. The high beams are a joke but around here they never get used anyway.
