My truck is a 05 with the Cummins. I wanted to install a aftermarket light bar made to fill in the gap on the grill. Started looking it over and noticed this is where the transmission cooler is located and would block air flow. I tow a 25' trailer and often on hot days, up hills, in the desert where transmission temperatures are critical. Any ideas on this. My old eyes need some help at night.

Are you referring to the gap in the bumper?? Some of the LED square pods put out a ton of light and dont block as much air flow so may be a good option.

How much are you willing to spend? They make aftermarket grilles with lightbars built in.

Just do an Internet search for “Cummins grille with light bar”. There’s quite a few to choose from.

Downside of a light bar- you dive into a dark hole every time you switch it off because of the weak low beams.

Did you consider an upgrade to the Headlights?
I mean upgrade not just shove some other bulbs of any kind in it!

I changed my headlights years ago to units from the retrofit store with morimoto Xenons and it's a fun to drive at night and rain.
Perfect Low- and Highbeams.

Ozzy is right. I got a pair of retroshop HID headlight assemblies. They are so much better than stock. It really is a completely different driving experience at night. No one flashes me either, so I am not blinding everyone else. They are around $700. I had a clear bra film wrapped on the headlights that has UV protection. This should prevent yellowing of the lens over time.
